Full Job Description

We are excited to be recruiting for our next cohort of trainees to join the firm for training contracts to commence in 2026 and 2027.

Typically, your two-year training contract will provide you with hands-on experience in a number of different areas of the law, one of them non-contentious. The training period will be split into four six-month placements.

For some part of your training contract, you may spend time at more than one of our offices in order to give you experience of different types of clients and work. However, we do flex our training contracts to suit the needs of the business, and you as our trainee.

With a full-service offering and a client base ranging from loyal, local communities to national and overseas businesses, Wilkin Chapman continues to grow, while our emphasis remains firmly on quality and innovation.

We know that happy, motivated employees are good for business, and a strong, forward-looking culture benefits everyone. Providing the tools and support to enable our people provides the foundation for success.

Our roots go back more than 120 years and we are now the largest law firm in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, with four regional offices and listed in the Lawyer UK 200. With well-established, niche expertise in specialist sectors, many of our solicitors and departments are ranked highly in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK.

We help and guide you on your career path, providing a great package of benefits and a superb sociable working environment. We’re a community of like-minded people ready to welcome your contribution.

At Wilkin Chapman, we prioritise the attraction and retention of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Our commitment to diversity is integral to fostering a values-led culture, facilitating the firm’s growth, and providing our colleagues with opportunities to build and advance their careers. We are dedicated to creating a fully inclusive environment where every individual feels seen, heard, supported, and valued. We welcome applications from suitably qualified people regardless of visible or invisible differences and as a Disability Confident Committed and Armed Forces friendly employer, we are accessible to the widest possible pool of talent.
