Join our Higher Apprentice - Trainee Supervisor programme and take the first step towards a fulfilling career in Contracting Operational Management. As a Trainee Supervisor Apprentice, you will be an integral part of our Contracting teams, gaining exposure to a variety of on-site supervisory roles and responsibilities. Over 36 months, you'll complete the Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor learning pathway, developing skills in:
- Health and safety, risk assessments, and working in safety-critical environments.
- Sustainability principles across economic, social, and environmental projects.
- Management principles and project lifecycle understanding. Role Responsibility In this role, you will:
- Supervise Tarmac site works, including surfacing, planing, and traffic management operations.
- Plan, programme, and deliver individual schemes, ensuring financial performance.
- Manage resources such as labour, plant, materials, and contractors to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure health and safety compliance by preparing risk assessments, permits, job briefing sheets, and delivery plans.
- Take accurate site measurements to place material orders.
- Maintain and record site work details and liaise with Quantity Surveyors for invoicing.
- Work closely with internal departments and external clients to meet project timelines.
- Work predominantly outdoors in varied weather conditions throughout the year.
To succeed in this role, you should be: - Motivated to work hands-on in outdoor environments.
- An effective communicator who can liaise with teams and stakeholders.
- Driven to learn, combining on-the-job experience with college studies.
- Willing to travel to various sites throughout the UK., England Applicants:
- 5 GCSEs (A-C / 9-4), including Maths and English.
- PLUS: A Level DD, BTEC National Diploma PPP, Access to HE Diploma (21 Merits), Level 3 Apprenticeship in a related subject, or equivalent qualifications worth 64 UCAS points. Scotland Applicants:
- Higher qualification (Grade C or above) with National 5 Maths (Grade C), suitable construction qualifications and/or experience, or NQ in a construction-related subject.
Structured learning pathway: Achieve a Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor qualification.
