Full Job Description

The Trainee Urgent Care Practitioner will be supported to complete the relevant courses required for the post which will include Level 7 minor injuries & Level 7 minor illness course at Huddersfield University.

The role encompasses treating adult & paediatric patients who self-present or are streamed to the Urgent Treatment Centre or Walk in Centre with a variety of minor injuries and minor illnesses.

As a trainee Urgent Care Practitioner, the successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the UCP clinical educator and experienced practitioners (ENP, ECP, UCP and ACP) to provide complete care ensuring the safe and effective management of patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge.,

    Local Care Direct (LCD) have exciting training positions available for highly motivated & suitably experienced clinicians to join our clinical team as Trainee Urgent Care Practitioners (UCP).


  • We are looking for innovative & hardworking individuals with a broad range of skills & experience in emergency or urgent care with at least 3 years post registration experience & exposure to a wide variety of patients with urgent care needs.

    This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals wishing to expand their scope of practice & develop in to an autonomous practitioner role. Becoming competent in assessing, diagnosing & treating patients with minor injuries & minor illnesses.

    This role will commence in Jan 25 in line with the start of the minor injuries course and on successful completion the Trainee UCP will work as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Then on successful completion of the minor illness course (commencing approx Sep 25) they will work as an Urgent Care Practitioner.
