The Exciting Role A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Trainer Assessor in Engineering within our Apprenticeship provision. The ideal candidate will have experience of delivery on Apprenticeship Standards with successful EPA results. We are looking for candidates with experience in one (or more) of the following areas:

  • Machining
  • Engineering (technical support ad tool maker)
  • However, please do get in touch if you have other skills, knowledge and experience as we would be keen to explore how this might fit within our team of industry specialists. To note: This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, or a newly qualified assessor looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation. For a candidate wishing to make the move from industry to assessing, a trainee assessor package (with support for completing their assessor qualification) could be explored. The successful candidate will be primarily based at our Accrington site but may be required to travel across sites. What You Will Be Doing:
  • Deliver all elements of the assessed standards including: training, mentoring, learner reviews, timely feedback and assessment
  • Deal with apprenticeship recruitment and enrolments
  • Be involved in apprentice, College and company inductions
  • Take a "hands-on" approach with apprentices, coaching and demonstrating best practice in line with the new Standards
  • Conduct initial assessment of apprenticeship needs
  • Carrying out monthly active learning and 12 weekly progress reviews with apprentices and employers.
  • What We Are Looking For:
  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • A1 qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • Teaching Qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • Current industrial experience/ up to date industry CPD
  • Experience of delivery and assessment of qualifications in this area
  • IQA qualification (or willingness to work towards)
