Full Job Description

Gregory Distribution Ltd (GDL), is seeking a dedicated Training Business Partner to join our Thorne depot. This role is essential in ensuring that our drivers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain high safety standards, comply with industry regulations, and meet company objectives. You will work closely with management across multiple sites to implement effective training programs that drive change, enhance safety, and ensure operational excellence. The position involves:

  • Collaborate with management teams across designated sites to identify training needs, establish annual training plans, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Champion safety initiatives and drive change in collaboration with site management.
  • Provide comprehensive driver training, including the mandatory Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training.
  • Develop and deliver Task-Specific Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) training and other specialist training modules.
  • Conduct the Group Induction for all new employees, ensuring they have a thorough introduction to the company's standards and expectations.
  • BRC Quality Standards training.
  • Lead or assist in incident investigations, performing root cause analyses to inform preventative measures.
  • Training 'Authorised Site Specialists' in some specialist areas i.e. LST and Assessor training.
  • Engage with customers to ensure training aligns with client expectations and addresses any specific needs.

    Minimum of 3 years driving at Category C+E (LGV) with a clean record (no more than 3 penalty points).
  • Demonstrable experience in a training or assessing role.
  • Strong understanding of LGV regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing schedules and travel as required across sites.
  • Desirable Skills required:
  • Teaching qualification (PTTLS or L3 EAT).
  • LGV Assessment or Instructional Qualification
  • Quality Standards experience.

    Salary between £37,000pa - £39,000pa, depending on experience.
  • Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, flexibility is required with this role.
