For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM's Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Training and Development Officer, Global Safety and Security. The Training and Development Officer is responsible for capacity building of the Regional Security Officers and their respective National Security Coordinators, expanding their roles from technical security experts to risk management professionals. The Training and Development Officer will have comprehensive knowledge and experience of IJM programs at the national, regional and global level and will be responsible for fostering influential relationships with a variety of stakeholders within various program / operational settings. The Training and Development Officer will design and implement initiatives that will build security and risk management capacity within IJM's Regional Security Teams at all levels of service. The Training and Development Officer must be flexible / available to deploy to the field for special projects and / or Crisis Management Support etc. on short notice. This position is responsible for overseeing safety and security in Europe, and (with the support of the Projects Coordinator), is responsible for building security management capacity within IJM Europe programs. This position is based in Europe and reports to the Global Director, Safety and Security. Successful candidates must reside in Europe with the right to work within the country in which they reside. Responsibilities : Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including regional and country leaders, department heads, team leaders, and individual contributors. Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and industry experts to leverage resources and expertise for capacity building efforts. Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and networking events to stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in capacity building. Policy Development and Compliance Assist in the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and guidelines in support of the Global Legal, Governance, Risk and Compliance team. Ensure that training programs align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies. Strategic Planning Collaborate with senior management to define strategic goals and priorities for capacity building initiatives. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify organizational strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Develop strategic plans and roadmaps to address capacity gaps and enhance organizational effectiveness. Develop Security and Capacity Building Training Programs. Capacity Building Programs Design, implement, and manage capacity building programs tailored to the needs of different departments and teams. Identify training and development needs through consultation with stakeholders, surveys, and analysis of performance metrics. Coordinate with external trainers, consultants, and partners to deliver specialized training and development initiatives. Assessment and Evaluation Conduct periodic assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement. Analyze training feedback, metrics, and incident reports to refine training content and delivery methods. RSO / SSFP Development Provide guidance and support to Regional Security Officers (RSO) in their professional development, including training, certification, and career advancement opportunities. Collaborate with HR and departmental managers to identify skill gaps and implement targeted development plans for security and program staff. Special Projects and Taskings Deploy overseas on short notice to offer SME support in a crisis. Deploy for prolonged periods of time in support of special security projects. Interim Europe RSO Provide SME support to program leaders and SSFP's within Europe for a period of at least 1 year.

    Bachelor's degree in organizational development, security risk management, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Proven experience in strategic planning, capacity building, and organizational development. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, training methodologies, and performance improvement techniques. Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and teams in a collaborative and inclusive manner with formal cross-cultural experience preferred. Experience working in a non-profit, international development, or government agency preferred. Technical Competencies Experience in security and risk management. Experience in global travel. Experience in teaching / coaching a diverse cadre of students. Excellent presentation skills. Proven record of Officering large teams within an operational environment. Military or Law Enforcement experience preferred. Non-Technical Competencies Ability to engage with global leaders at the regional and country levels. Be an initiative-taker, have high capacity and a 'can do' attitude.
