Full Job Description

As Training Programme Director, you will be responsible for coordinating the training across the region. You will ensure that national standards, determined by Royal Colleges, the GMC and NHS-E WT&E are implemented locally. Applicants must be currently working within the East Midlands area at consultant level or equivalent including SAS doctors in the specialty school area. Experience within the specialty at consultant or SAS doctor level is essential as is considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context. It is expected that Training Programme Directors continue in clinical practice while fulfilling the role. The post will be offered for 3 years in the first instance with satisfactory annual appraisal, with the option of extending for a further 3 years if mutually agreed. The successful applicant will work closely with the Head of School, Postgraduate Dean and the Future Workforce Team to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient- centered care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.
