Full Job Description

The successful applicant for this post will support the Head of School of Anaesthesia in the co-ordination and direction of Specialty trainingin NHS England across the West Midlands., The Training Programme Director will ensure that national standards determined by the Royal Colleges of Anaesthetists are adhered to and national and NHSE policies in Higher Specialty Training are implemented., The successful applicant will work closely with the Head of School, Postgraduate Dean and the Future Workforce Team to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development. The programme currently has about 65 trainees and the post would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced educational supervisor /college tutor aiming to further develop their educational portfolio. The post holder will develop, plan and ensure the delivery of the anaesthetic training in the Stoke School of Anaesthesia. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Advising on the curriculum and ensuring that this is delivered effectively across the West Midlands
  • Providing training for clinical and educational supervisors
  • Supporting trainees in difficulty and their trainers
  • Chairing ACRP panels
  • Working with educational leads from local education providers across the School Board, NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
