Full Job Description

The Royal Marsden has a vital role in championing change and improvement in cancer care through research and innovation, education and leading-edge practice. We are incredibly proud of our international reputation for pushing the boundaries and for our ground-breaking work ensuring our patients receive the very best and latest in cancer treatment and care.
Cancer Imaging is a major strength at the Trust, where leading edge research has translated to improved patient diagnostics and disease management. Imaging data provides a fertile ground for artificial intelligence (AI) research and application, which can generate new knowledge, improve efficiency, increase diagnostic performance and a platform for integrated diagnostics.
Powered by the AI Imaging Hub, we aim to create a future-orientated imaging department to realise the full potential of imaging data for early diagnosis, precision medicine and improved patient outcomes through development of novel biomarkers, minimally invasive techniques and informatics solutions. We will provide diagnostic services which not only reveal location and extent of disease but non-invasive insight into the biological behaviours of disease, a "digital biopsy". This innovative approach will support tailored therapy that can adapt to the individual patient in response to changes in their data., The Transformation Lead will be an integral member of the AI Imaging Hub team. The post holder will:
+ Together with the Directors, oversee the Artificial Intelligence Imaging Hub, working with scientists, clinicians and support workers together in the patient environment.
+ Co-ordinate the unique spectrum of talent and skills required for the development of novel AI tools and real-world translation of digital tools for the benefit of patients.
+ Be responsible for ensuring the Hub is an invigorating environment, ensuring increasing staff recruitment and retention in an increasingly competitive environment.
+ Seek out and liaise with academic and industry collaborators to attract investment and stimulate enthusiasm, collaboration and innovation throughout the Trust., + Maximise opportunities for sharing our expertise with other centres to deliver excellent clinical imaging research in the UK, including support the setup and support of multi-centre imaging studies.
+ Provide quarterly and annual reports on activities relating to the Hub.
+ Oversee and coordinate the development of funding applications for imaging research projects, costing appropriately in line with national and local criteria.
The Royal Marsden values diversity and is committed to the recruitment and retention of underrepresented minority groups. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates and candidates with disabilities.
As a Disability Confident Employer, we are working to create a workplace that enables all staff to reach their full potential. We are committed to this because we know that greater diversity and inclusion will lead to an even greater positive impact for the people we serve.

Flu Vaccination - What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre. Our role is to offer our patients the best cancer care available anywhere in the world, and to continue to make a global contribution to finding better ways of diagnosing and treating cancer.
