Full Job Description

Tameside Children's Services are seeking to recruit committed Transition Support Workers to join our team as part of the Staying Close project. Staying Close is a pilot service offer to children who have left care and who have previously lived in children's homes, designed to offer them practical, employment, emotional and social help in their lives as they exit care.

The aim of the programme is to ensure that each young person is equipped with skills to be able to live a successful and positive life, once they move into their own home. The support to the young people continues until the age of 21.

We are looking for Support Workers with vision and energy to be able to build positive, genuine relationships with young people. You will have ambitious aspirations for the young people you support, ensuring that they access a variety of opportunities to further develop interests and skills.

You will have knowledge of developing independence skills such as, budgeting, cooking, shopping, DIY, paying bills, dealing with utility providers, housing providers etc. in order to be able to support the young people on the programme., Our employees' skills, experience and knowledge are essential to our success along with their happiness, wellbeing, commitment, enthusiasm and motivation to be the best they can be.
