Full Job Description

  • The main function is to ensure the smooth flow of material from film suppliers to Gainsborough, managing the timely and accurate supply to meet site requirements.


  • Management of site booking in procedures, liaison with suppliers to ensure booking slots and reference numbers are provided and adhered to.


  • Printing pallet labels as required for inbound materials for the Warehouse.


  • Check forward orders and liaising with Materials team and suppliers to arrange delivery bookings and update booking system.


  • - Dealing with receipt and invoice discrepancies, including investigations with Warehouse, Quality, Materials team and suppliers.-
  • Dealing with failed, delayed or rejected transport with suppliers and ensuring Materials team and Warehouse are made aware, Ensure all inbound Film transport is booked in accordance with sites available booking slots ensuring booking references are provided to supplier & suppliers haulier (if different)

  • Dealing with failed transport or discrepancies in deliveries with suppliers, and also managing any rejected deliveries or part deliveries and ensuring Warehouse, Procurement, Quality and Materials teams are involved

  • Working with Warehouse to ensure Film materials are picked on time to meet production requirements

  • Support the Warehouse and Materials functions through clear communication of any amendments to inbound Film deliveries, delays etc

  • Ensure overall Warehouse capacity and safety levels are maintained

  • Requesting POD and ETA information from Film suppliers and suppliers hauliers

  • Check forward Materials purchase orders (film) and liase with suppliers to manage inbound planning into site

  • Manage invoice queries for Inbound Materials (film), working with suppliers to conclusion

  • Liaison with Customs clearance agent to ensure suppliers are moving goods through this route, where required, to minimise inbound delays

  • Manage receipt (against PO in IT system), storage (Cage) and issue and communication of all non-BOM inventory which is delivered to warehouse

  • Look to new and improved ways of working


  • Reporting
  • Print labels for raw materials inbound for Warehouse

  • Scan all inbound delivery paperwork onto system and keep electronically (for audit purposes) then file (prior and current year only)


  • Outbound
  • Cover for Transport Supervisor in case of holidays and sickness for all outbound freight


  • Manage and record all outbound deliveries on database


  • Checking outbound deliveries against supplier invoices


  • Scan all despatch / packing paperwork onto system and keep electronically (for audit purposes) then file (prior and current year only)


  • Relationship Management (Internal and External)
  • Establish strong working relationships with Materials, Quality and Warehouse teams
