Full Job Description
Our Multi user transport centre in Doncaster, keeps the Wincanton Group Transport network moving! An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Transport Administrator on our Howdens Contract on the Doncaster site, working as part of a team you will be responsible for the planning and coordinating our drivers to meet the demands of the business. You will be responsible for managing and planning Howdens next day deliveries, debriefing drivers when they arrive back to depot and completing general administrative tasks all whilst delivering to Wincanton's high-level service levels. By building close working relationships with the drivers within the business, you will ensure that Wincanton fleet utilisation is always maximised. 40 hours per week Monday- Friday from 11am to 7pm.,
- To administer the movement of vehicles (and associated activity) received and despatched from the site in a timely, safe and accurate standard, in line with the agreed service strategy to the JS store network;
- Drive backhaul volume through the fleet by working with the wider network.
- Manage customer relationships ensuring that communication is good, and issues are highlighted and dealt with quickly and appropriately. Suggesting improvements and working with the Customers team to maximise efficiency.
- To undertake all activities in line with the KPI requirements/service agreements for that area;
- To help develop a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in-class activity and operational excellence.
- To be accountable for personal Health and Safety practices
- To ensure that Wincanton Health and Safety policy and procedures are followed at all times,
- To ensure that any customer specific health and safety requirements are followed where appropriate
- To maintain accurate records management
Experience in a transport or logistics environment as a transport administrator would be highly valued but not essential. - Administrative experience is essential
- Previous experience of Transport Management systems is advantageous
- Preferred knowledge of relevant driver legislation
- Excellent administration skills
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate records maintained
- Ability to work under strict timescales and work under own initiative
- IT literacy to include Excel, Word and Outlook
- Team player, self-motivated, flexible and confident
