Full Job Description

BT Group has the 2nd largest fleet of vehicles in the UK at c.36,000. Our fleet of vehicles are critical to our operation - whether it is an Openreach customer service installing broadband in a customer's home, or a BT Technology engineer repairing the network infrastructure, we couldn't deliver our purpose without our vehicles. A key part of this role is to support the Head of Compliance and drive day to day compliance under the Group's "operator licence". An operator's licence (or Olicence) is the legal authority needed to operate goods vehicles in Great Britain.,

  • Responsible for the "Olicence" fleet across all 9 regions within BT Group and ensure that these vehicles are fully compliant through a combination of field and office-based audits.
  • Work closely with the retained fleet org and Head of Compliance to ensure our fleet maintenance suppliers are managed appropriately, ensuring they deliver on their contractual compliance commitments and that BT Group deliver on theirs.
  • Audit TM's to leverage best-practice and legal compliance and report all findings to the Head of Compliance.
  • Responsibility for a set of assets with an annual spend of c£160m.
  • Responsible for arranging all external audits using ACE & Logistics UK.

    Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience of fleet management across a varied fleet including heavy goods, light vehicles and plant.
  • Experience of managing an 'O' Licence.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels from drivers to senior leaders to ensure compliance
  • Proven level of technical and organisational knowledge relating to fleet management.
  • Competent in the use of IT systems and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively building trust, mediating, conciliating, negotiating and delegating.
