Full Job Description
Pay Rate: £26,000 - £30,000 Dependent on Experience Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: 4 on 4 off 7am - 7pm Location: Prudhoe - NE42 6PL DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Controller to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of transport procedures. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL? As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will
- Daily brief and de-brief of drivers in a busy transport office
- Managing a small team of drivers to monitor performance, compliance issues and HR Management tasks such as performance reviews
- Contact hauliers about delivery issues, raise incident reports and agree corrective actions
- Ensure that work instructions and standard operating procedures are followed and check list is adhered to
- Responsible for ensuring systems are updated in a timely manner WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Experience working in a fast-moving transport operation is essential
- A good knowledge of Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive
- Excellent IT skills - must have working experience of Microsoft Office including Excel, Microlise and Tachomaster
