Full Job Description
Due to our ongoing growth and success, we require an experienced, diligent Transport Manager to join our team in Ibstock. This is a standalone role where you will be responsible for the uptime, compliance and legality of our ever-growing LCV and HGV fleet of vehicles.,
- Ensuring that all requirements relating to safety, health, environment, quality, & compliance are being fully implemented.
- Regularly collate, monitor and analyse vehicle and driver costs, vehicle utilisation and fuel use accordingly, to achieve overall performance targets and identify improvement opportunities.
- To ensure that the requirements of the Operator's Licence are adhered to at all times.
- Manage and monitor Drivers' Tachograph records and infringements
- Develop and implement SHEQ policies, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure that all breakdowns and delays are dealt with in a speedy manner.
- Ensure that all accidents, dangerous occurrences & near misses are reported as per company policy and that the relevant reports are completed for all such incidents.
- Ensure that all daily vehicle checks, vehicle inspections & defect-reporting procedures are in place
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the company's fleet of vehicles
Full understanding of the Working Time Directive, drivers' hours and operators' licensing compliance - Professional certifications related to SHEQ management (e.g., NEBOSH) are desirable.
- Strong communication and self-management skills
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Sound knowledge of logistics principles for effective transport management
- Excellent understanding of Health and Safety processes
- Good people engagement skills, self-driven, positive can-do attitude., transport management: 3 years (preferred)
