Full Job Description

Due to a new contract an opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planner to be based at our Distribution Centre in Daventry DIRFT. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with drive, determination and enthusiasm. The successful applicant will be working with the wider planning teams within a network with over 75+ transport planners.
After training we will be able to offer hybrid working pattern, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Shift - Any 5 from 7 and a fixed shift of 06:00 to 14:00. Working every other weekend.
Salary - £30,000 to £32,000 DOE
How will you contribute?

  • Assist in the production of an optimum Transport plan in a time critical environment, constantly review and maintain in line with operational changes.

  • Undertake all activities in line with KPI requirements and SLA's.

  • Work closely with the Development team, Lead Planner and wider transport operational planning teams, to the most efficient Transport plan is produced that supports the "One Network".

  • Collation of weekly finance statistics.

  • Assist in the production of reports for Senior Site Management to support KPI's.

  • Work closely with key operational partners including other departments, depots and customer locations.

  • Other Site administration as and when required.

  • Reporting to the Lead planner based on site.

  • Creating Peak plans for events such as Easter and Christmas

  • Learning other site-based plans to greater your knowledge of the network and support other depots.

  • Actively looking for CI opportunities within not only your plans but the wider Network.

    Experience of working within a Transport environment.

  • Ortec planning software knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory as full training will be provided.

  • Confident communicator.

  • Good organiser.

  • Computer literate with good experience in using Microsoft Office - specially Excel.

  • Ability to work under pressure and flexible in their approach.

  • Sound team player and motivator who can work on own initiative.

  • Good numerical and analytical skills paying strong attention to detail.

  • Driven by continual improvement and high personal standards.
