Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented Transport Supervisor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis on our day shift in Coleshill.This role is responsible for managing the transport operation, ensuring customer requirements are met and company policies and procedures are followed.,

  • Responsible for the day to day management of the transport team
  • Supporting the Operations Manager in developing the contract
  • Ensuring company procedures are being followed and customer service levels remain high.
  • Support the Finance team in updating the Time and Attendance system and answer any queries
  • Management for defects and deal with any queries
  • Managing and supporting the drivers in their day to day roles
  • Support the planning of the weekly workload and organising drivers and staff to ensure all runs are covered in a cost effective and efficient manner
  • Liaising with VMU's, production sites and the Planning Team in relation to any potential service issues or operational needs
  • Producing daily reports on equipment failures, VOR's, on-going issues and service levels
  • Updating the day to day reports for all customers, ensuring any time deadlines for the reports are met at all times
  • Any other duties deemed reasonable and appropriate

    Essential: confidence in utilising Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Essential: strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and coach teams to ensure excellent performance
  • Essential: Taking responsibility and demonstrating commitment and leading by example
  • Essential: Key decision making
  • Essential: Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships
  • Essential: Support and encourage a good team working spirit and ensure that all stakeholders work effectively and communicate frequently to achieve the business objectives
  • Essential: Experience supervising or managing a team in a complex transport and manufacturing environment
  • Essential: working knowledge of Transport Legislation / WTD / Drivers hours
