Full Job Description
As a Transport Team Leader you will be responsible for overseeing the transport operation, ensuring the efficient delivery of cost, service, compliance, and people KPIs, all in line with both company and legal requirements whilst dealing with customer queries.
Your key responsibilities will include:
+ Leading the transport team, with the ability to support and step in for the Transport Team Manager when necessary.
+ Effectively planning the depot fleet using company planning tools, striving to maximise efficiency while minimising costs.
+ Supporting the management team to ensure departmental and depot-wide compliance with all relevant standards.
+ Monitoring and maintaining high housekeeping standards, identifying and addressing workplace hazards.
+ Communicating proactively with drivers, mates, and internal/external customers to address operational issues.
+ Offering expert knowledge, advice, leadership, and motivation to the team while working on continuous improvements.
+ Providing practical solutions to operational challenges, taking ownership of issues, and resolving them effectively.
+ Fostering a positive, safe, and productive working environment.
+ Continuously assessing and implementing operational improvements, generating new ideas, and promoting change.

We are looking for someone who has a passionate, hands-on approach to delivering premium service to both internal and external customers. As a team player and role model, you will lead by example, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop your team and handle any customer queries.
You should have proven experience handling investigations, including, but not limited to, accidents and disciplinaries, and be able to manage targets and KPIs effectively.
