Full Job Description
You will co-ordinate the management of all trauma patients, guaranteeing adherence to the appropriate trauma pathway for each patient, and effectively ensure theatre schedules run to time , promoting and delivering high quality care.,
- To coordinate activity within the trust liaising with other health care professionals to ensure patients are managed effectively and efficiently through the orthopaedic emergency pathway
- To improve the scheduling of surgery, reduce cancelled operations and reduce pre-operative fasting
- To ensure effective communication internally and externally regarding patient care and resources
- Establish effective working relationships with other care professionals whose role impinges on the service i.e. theatre team, wards, Lead Trauma CoOrdinator and Matron.
- Deputise for the Lead Trauma CoOrdinator in the management of the service and supporting the Orthopaedic Assessment Unit. Please note that this role may often attract a high level of applications.
