Full Job Description

We are looking for a Trust Registrar in Trauma and Orthopaedics to start
immediately. The successful candidate will be joining an enthusiastic, forward thinking department comprising 15 Consultant teams.
The department runs a 'trauma (on-take) week' system. The department offers good training and development opportunities at a level appropriate to that offered to a Specialist Registrar. During the non-trauma week, there will be a mixture of elective clinics and theatres across two sites, Hillingdon and Mt Vernon Hospitals, with a named consultant within a 'firm structure'.
This job is based on a 40 Hour working week (between 8am and 5pm) and attracts banding as part of on-call commitments.
The Hillingdon Hospital runs a busy elective and emergency Orthopaedic Service with 15 Consultants Surgeons. There are currently 10 Middle Grades supported by 11 SHOs. The department is led by Mr David Ahearne, Consultant Surgeon, Trauma and Orthopaedics), who is the Clinical Lead. The successful candidates will work as part of this wider team, but have a huge commitment to delivering the Trauma services for the department., The job is based on a contract of 40 hours per week, where the successful candidate will be working mostly with their allocated consultant firm. This translates to supporting the consultant's Trauma PAs and also covering other sessions on a service priority basis. The PAs include Fracture Clinics, Theatre Sessions, Admin and Ward rounds. There is time set aside for study/research to be agreed upon appointment. Other activity includes ward rounds and administration, the timings of which will be confirmed upon appointment.
This job plan may be adjusted depending on the service requirements.
