Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit 21 permanent part time travel assistants to escort pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, some that may have challenging behaviour, to and from School.

If you are the kind of person who likes to put a smile on peoples' faces and you are caring and responsible, you will make the perfect Home to School Passenger Assistant.

School Travel Assistants see that children with special educational needs and disabilities get safely to and from School each day.

It's a responsible job….but can also be great fun.

To join our team, you will need work split shifts being available from 7.30am and 9.30am and between 2.30pm and 4.30pm during term time.

As a Travel Assistant you are responsible for the safety, welfare and control of the pupils in your care on the journey between home and school, just as you would expect a caring parent to be. A good Travel Assistant makes an important and valued contribution to the special services available to the families of children with special education needs and Disabilities.

Your daily contact with these pupils forms an essential link between home and school. It is important to work as flexibly as possible with both the school and the family to meet the (often demanding) needs of the children.

Experience of working with children, experience of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
