Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to join us at MindFood, helping support people with depression, anxiety and stress to improve their wellbeing through gardening, mindfulness and creativity. Based in Ealing we are looking for someone with experience of, or an interest in, mental heath difficulties and support with recovery. We need a Treasurer to liaise with the Finance Director and oversee budgets, accounts and financial statements. Fully qualified chartered accountant / financial qualifications and experience are required., As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to make better mental health acessible for all. This is a vital role, helping support our evidence-based approach to ecotherapy using the restorative benefits of nature to calm the mind, empowering more people to create a lasting difference to their emotional and physical wellbeing in a safe place, free from discrimination. We aim to promote and maintain recovery by improving wellbeing, transforming lives, and creating change that lasts. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help us progress as a charity.

  • Fully qualified chartered accountant / financial qualifications and experience

  • Experience of charity finance, fundraising and pension schemes

  • A willingness to be available to staff for advice and enquiries

  • Ability to think strategically, that is long term, across the whole organisation and taking into account the wider external world.

  • Willingness to accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of a Trustee

  • A team player willing to accept responsibility for collective decision making and maintain confidentiality

  • Readiness to offer personal and professional skills and experience to support Board

  • Willingness to remain informed about the work of the organisation.

  • Good communication skills and a commitment to act as an advocate for the organisation.

  • Willingness to support marketing/fundraising activities and attend events.

  • A willingness to challenge and be challenged, positively.

  • Values and integrity.

  • Good judgement and the ability to think impartially.

  • Experience of working in the charity sector.

  • Understanding and/or knowledge of charity and company law and finances.
