Full Job Description

The Capital Business and Entity Decision Support team is primarily responsible for the management of Citi's capital in non-US entities. The team works closely across Treasury, Finance and Tax teams to drive the broader capital efficiency and planning efforts of the firm for International legal entities subject to local country regulations.

The team is responsible for ensuring consistent frameworks are applied globally for local entity capital structures, capital repatriation, double-leverage considerations and forecasting for local regulatory requirements in the countries. Working with its partners in Finance and the various businesses, the team defines and implements capital structure efficiencies, identifies strategies to optimize use of double leverage in local subsidiaries and improve the effective tax rate for the firm.

The role is crucial in executing key objectives of the Capital Management team's international optimization efforts and is the lead on the optimization of the capital stacks in the International entities, the redesign of important intercompany support arrangements and increasing capital repatriation from the International network.

The role plays a key role in coordinating actions across senior stakeholders inside and outside Finance.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate capital injection requests and approval process across local entities with NY-based Treasury teams including parent and broker-dealer Treasury

  • Analyse, document, track and where possible reduce constraints to dividend repatriation

  • Devise a mechanism for reducing time to inject capital into Bank Chain entities or other mechanisms to provide more immediate relief where required

  • Identify entities targeted to re-align capital stacks to include Additional Tier 1 (AT1) and Tier 2 (T2) instruments

  • Capital Planning and Management

  • Assist in the review and refinement of the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) approach for legal entity capital

    A detailed understanding of bank regulatory capital regimes, both in the US and internationally

  • A detailed understanding of features and dynamics of various capital instruments

  • A detailed understanding and experience of Treasury funding processes and principles

  • A detailed understanding of bank risk and return dynamics

  • Familiarity with international banking operating structure

  • Experience in Capital Markets Structuring and Funds Transfer Pricing would be beneficial
