Full Job Description

Working as part of a Treasury Team and reporting to the Senior Treasury Officer to ensure all work associated with the Trust and subsidiaries (the Group) Annual Accounts are completed within the defined timetable. This will involve working with the Group's External Auditor to ensure that all information is correct and that the Group not only fulfills its financial duties but achieves an unqualified audit reports.
Dependent on the needs of the business the Treasury duties could be carried out in the Treasury Office at the Birmingham Children's Hospital, Birmingham Women's Hospital or remotely from home.
A key rotational role will be to ensure the Cashiers Offices are fully manned and operational within the opening hours determined by the Chief Financial Officer. There is a Cashiers Office located in both the Birmingham Children's Hospital and Birmingham Women's Hospital. Dependent on the needs of the business cover needs to be given to both sites. The Cashier role involves Customer Service to patients, staff and liaising with Cash carriers.
Work with the Trust's Internal Auditors when the Treasury Department is audited, sharing processes and procedures. This will require implementing any proposed recommendations within agreed timescales., Ability to analyse, investigate and resolve financial queries and discrepancies. There are both balance sheet reconciliations and salary deduction reconciliations requiring different processes.
Analyses financial data to identify errors and rectifies problems from a range of options. This could be errors identified on Petty Cash reconciliations that have been incorrectly receipted to the Finance Ledger that need correcting or payroll entries being posted to wrong control accounts.
Various salary deduction schemes require complex calculations about payments and decisions whether and how to pursue over/underpayments on these Schemes need to be made e.g. Travel cards, childcare, salary sacrifice.
