Full Job Description

If you're a science and nature news hound then the new role of Trending News Editor for one of the world's biggest science websites, Live Science, could be for you. As the Trending News Editor, Live Science, you will make sure breaking news stories are published on the most exciting events, and your creativity will shine as you develop fresh angles and spin up new features. Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief you will build news output and audience across the site, managing a commissioning budget and a news writer and ensuring Live Science is at the forefront of science news, globally.

  • An understanding of fundamentals related to science and nature
  • Experience in Science journalism
  • First-rate knowledge of editorial SEO and analytics packages
  • Experience producing high-quality, engaging, relevant digital content
  • A desire to develop new channels using innovative ideas and keeping informed about industry developments and trends
  • Experience managing freelancers or a team and monthly budget management
