Triage Support Officer

This role will involve working as part of a virtual centralised triage team, alongside Band 5 Triage Officers and Principal Inspectors. The Band 6 Triage Support Officer (TSO) will be involved in the pre-triage assessment of reports made under Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR) and providing administrative support to the RIDDOR triage team.,

• Accessing RIDDOR and processing reports from the RIDDOR database.
• Assessing the information contained in the RIDDOR report and making decisions about whether HSE is the relevant regulator and whether the report meets the RIDDOR reporting criteria.
• Assessing whether pre-filter criteria apply to the incident.
• Discussing risk factor categorisation decisions with the Principal Inspector, where decisions are difficult and/or require a higher degree of regulatory knowledge.
• Applying the pre-triage part of the risk-based decision model to the RIDDOR, and accurately recording the risk factor categorisation decisions within the RIDDOR tracker.
• Creating investigation cases on HSE's case management system for those incidents as requested by Triage Officers.
