Trust Doctor in Medicine (IMT3 equivalent)

As a major teaching Trust, and the second largest provider of specialised services in the county, we support people with a range of rare and complex, medical, surgical and neurological conditions, cancers and genetic disorders. based across both our Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital sites, we are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for highly motivated, ambitious individual to join a Medical Rotation post., This post is an opportunity to gain experience in a variety of medical specialities with the successful candidate rotating across 4 different specialities over the course of a year in 3-month rotations; examples of potential rotations are given below although these may be subject to change. Educational opportunities and departmental teaching will be provided to the successful candidate who will be supported to develop areas of interest including research and audit; they will be encouraged to attend Internal Medicine teaching and be offered a half day of self -directed learning time/ month.

Our staff oversee over 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites:

o Freeman Hospitalo Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI)o Health Innovation Neighbourhood (on the former Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Ageing and Vitality site)o Newcastle Dental Hospitalo Newcastle Fertility Centreo Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbriao Northern Genetics Serviceo Cramlington Manor Walks

These include a range of flagship services which deliver cutting-edge care (supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic services in both radiology and pathology) and are a catalyst for innovation to support pioneering clinical practice in the NHS.
