Full Job Description

Our OPS (Older People's Services) team is growing, and we would like you to be a part of our fantastic workforce. We are advertising for a 6-month fixed termTrust Doctor (ST1-2equivalent) post to cover the older peoples' assessment unit (OPAU), the virtual ward, and older peoples ward as soon as possible for the period from 05-Feb-2025 to 05-Aug-2025.. This post will sit within the department of Older People's Services and will include General Medicine on-call work. The successful applicant will be able to develop individualised educational goals including a focus within the specialty of your choice. This post presents excellent opportunities to develop clinical skills and has a high level of consultant supervision. This provides a good educational opportunity and if the postholder is interested they will be able to gain audit, research, or teaching experience. You must hold a current full registration with the General Medical Council and have experience across a broad range of Medical Subspecialties. MRCP part is essential for this post or alternatively if you have at least a year's experience in a UK health trust your application may be considered., To attend daily ward or board rounds (consultant-led ) To be responsible for keeping of medical case-notes, ordering, and interpreting investigations, writing electronic summaries, and making referrals to other specialties To ensure that discharge summaries are written out promptly and accurately To interact with members of the multidisciplinary team in the interests of patients - To flexibly support service needs as required Supervising and performing medical procedures Participate in clinical meetings, and governance meetings including M&M and academic sessions Participate in the on-call Gen Med rota., Infection Prevention and Control Roles and Responsibilities

  • To adhere to Trust policy and infection control principles and standards to minimise patient risk and ensure high quality patient care.
  • Undertake appropriate training and practice to ensure you have the right skills and are competent.
  • Are responsible for keeping the environment clutter free, clean and raising issues of concern in the interest of staff and patient safety.
  • Mandatory Training The post-holder has a professional duty to maintain compliance with the Barts Health Statutory and Mandatory Training, for example, training on CRS (electronic patient records), CQUIN targets, Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults.
