Full Job Description

At Dudley Academies Trust we are celebrating our best English examination results to date, and we are confident that this positive trajectory will be sustained, providing the very best life chances for our learners.

We are now seeking to enhance capacity in our Trust's central team by appointing an excellent English teacher to work centrally with our Lead Director of English and our Director of Reading. The successful candidate should be an experienced teacher and have a proven track record of strong outcomes. You will work across the Trust's four secondary schools, focussing on delivering intervention lessons to year 11 learners in smaller groups. You will also, from time to time, teach year 11 classes.

We are offering variety, flexibility and the opportunity to benefit from an excellent career development opportunity with a TLR available for the right candidate.

Dudley Academies Trust was established to ensure a first rate education for the young people of Dudley and the surrounding areas. It is important to us that all our young people have a high-quality education that will give them the foundations they need for a fulfilling life and a rewarding future career.

Following three successive years in which our academies improved their GCSE results, they achieved their best set of results ever in 2022. By 2023, all four of our secondary academies were on or above the national average for the progress made by learners. All four are above the average for Dudley; in fact, since joining the Trust, they are the four most improved secondary schools in the Borough for progress and one of them is the most improved for grades achieved.

Our intention, for every child who joins one of our academies, is to see their potential, inspire their dreams for the future and make their ambitions possible. Each of our secondary academies has been judged as 'Good' or 'Outstanding' for Personal Development by Ofsted, and we are determined to continue making a huge difference to the prospects for local youngsters.

Closing date is Friday 4th October 2024 - we reserve the right to close this vacancy earlier than the date advertised.

All successful applicants will need to undertake an enhanced disclosure and barring service check and children and adults barred list checks, where the applicant will be employed in a regulated activity.

Dudley Academies Trust is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, including disabled, and black and ethnic minority applicants.
