Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Trust grade Dental Core Trainee (DCT) to join the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust., The successful candidate would be expected to take part in Clinical Governance activities, training and teaching. The Trust can also provide support for doctors wishing to train via CESR pathway.

This is a 40 hours a week post with a 1:6 non-resident first on weekend and 1:5 weekdays on call (either Friday 24hrs or Saturday & Sunday 48 hrs). However, LTFT hours would be considered.

Main duties of the job

The Maxillofacial Unit provides the full range of OMFS services including Orthognathic Surgery, Trauma, Salivary Gland Surgery and Surgical Dermatology(with the exception of Reconstructive Oncology, Cleft Lip and Palate and Craniofacial Surgery).

The post holder will undertake a number of clinical sessions per week in Peterborough (dependent upon the service needs) divided between new referral clinics, follow up clinics, supervised treatments under local anaesthetic and general anaesthetic along with independent local anaesthetic lists under the supervision of four Oral and Maxillofacial Consultants.

You must hold a DBS, or equivalent, have full registration with the GDC, and a minimum of one years' experience in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery.
