Full Job Description

The Trust Grade (post holder) will provide ward doctor support to wither Kennet Ward, a 15 bed ward for male patients or to Wickham Low Secure Services.
You will provide support and clinical assistance to the consultant psychiatrists with regard to the care of patients.
These are well-supported posts where you will gain a great deal of experience and knowledge working within established multi-disciplinary teams treating a great range of patients in the acute and rehabilitation stages of their care., The post holder will provide/input into the care and treatment for patients under the consultant supervision.
The risk assessment and risk management of the patients will be a core part of the job.
The post holder will have particular responsibility for the physical health care of the patients and will liaise with the primary care team on site.
The post holder will liaise with other doctors, wards, and outside agencies, as may be appropriate, especially with regard to continuity of patient care.
To participate in the daytime on call duty doctor rota for secure services (inpatient services in Fromeside and Wickham) at a frequency of approximately one day per week.
This work is supported by the on-call consultant rota.

Candidates must have a full GMC registration and, preferably, some experience in psychiatry or equivalent.
You must have at least 3 months experience in an NHS setting.
Evidence of achievement of foundation competencies or equivalent are essential.
