Full Job Description

This fixed term Trust Grade post is a career opportunity to gain and consolidate experience in the management of acute STI's, contraception and a range of sexual health presentations. The role will be fully supported clinically by the Consultants, senior specialty doctors and nursing team.

This post will be based in the Florey clinic at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The post will involve working within varying opening hours of the service (including some early morning and evening clinics).

Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities

To work in outpatient clinics to manage Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's) and sexual health presentations (as agreed within local operating procedures and in keeping with national guidelines).

The opportunity to work in the outpatient management of HIV infection (to a level agreed by the Consultants, and depending on previous clinical experience).

The opportunity to acquire training and experience in the provision of contraception.

Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Comply with the GMC Duties of a Doctor at all times.

To work cohesively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of sexual health medical care.
