Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated team player to join our supportive Orthopaedic department at a SHO/CT level. This post is suitable for both F3 doctors as well as at Core trainee level. We have a good track record of our doctors going on to formal higher surgical training programmes from this post, as well as GP VTS schemes. This post was created specifically with a career Orthopaedic Surgeon in mind. It is aimed at those that have completed or need to complete their basic surgical training and wish to specialise in Orthopaedics but have not yet achieved an ST post. The successful applicant will have some Orthopaedic experience. The post is not recognised by the Postgraduate Dean for the purposes of training, but excellent training and research opportunities are available within the post. The SHO may be required to perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances until a Locum can be obtained. Such additional commitments are exceptionaland for short periods only., The post holder will join with other Orthopaedic CT 1&2 trainees and Trust Grade SHO's as part of the on-call rota.
