Full Job Description

This is a 6 month fixed term post. The post holder will work closely with a team of Consultant Rheumatologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, a GPVTS trainee and Staff nurses. They will be expected to initiate and provide sound clinical/medical practices to patient under the care of the Rheumatology team, mostly in outpatient clinic but also if they are admitted under other general medical teams.
Investigating and initiating medical management of patients with a variety of rheumatological conditions
Patient assessment both in clinic and when reviewing ward-referrals
Drug prescription in clinic, for ward patients and for patients attending the Day Case Unit
Undertaking reviews of patients with rheumatological issues admitted under other medical teams (e-Purples)
Participate in ward rounds with the Consultants
Participate in routine blood monitoring of patients together with the GPVTS trainee
