Full Job Description
West Herts NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term, full time, Trust Senior Clinical Fellow to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department. This post is for 6 months, with the possibility that it may extend to 12 months and beyond.
You will become part of an experienced and supportive team of Specialty Doctors and Registrars working cross sites of St Albans City Hospital and Watford General Hospital.
The main responsibility of the role will be to provide a high-quality of specialist inpatient and outpatient care to patients with Trauma and Orthopaedic problems referred by General Practitioners and other hospital colleagues.
We will ensure excellent learning and training opportunities for you to specialise in either hip & knee replacements, knee arthroscopies, foot and ankle, hands, shoulder & elbow surgery.
Main duties of the job
Your primary responsibility will be for Trauma and Orthopaedics including experience in Elective Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery.
Your clinical duties on the Orthopaedic wards will include ward round, attending, and assisting in theatres and clinics. You will take part on the on-call rota where you will be provided with consultant supervision.
As an experienced member of the team, you will be expected to provide supervision and support to Junior Doctors and non-Consultant medical staff on the ward daily, as well as participating in multidisciplinary team meetings.
You will be encouraged to participate in Clinical Governance activities, undertake audit and contribute to national audits, and actively pursuing further professional development opportunities.

£49,559 to £64,288 a year plus £149 HCA, plus 2B banding
