A Consultant Mentor and an Educational Supervisor will be assigned to provide tailored support, fostering your professional growth throughout your time with us. You'll become an integral part of our dynamic and welcoming multi-disciplinary team, where collaboration and teamwork are highly valued across our Emergency Departments (EDs). We work in close synergy with our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Intensive Care units to deliver seamless patient care.As of 23 July 2024, we have centralised the acute medical intake at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, so medical patients presenting at Cheltenham and requiring admission are smoothly transferred to Gloucester. Here, the Emergency Department is equipped with clear protocols for direct referrals to specialised units, including the Surgical
Assessment Unit (SAU), Trauma Assessment Triage Unit (TATU), Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) for infants under three months, and the Head and Neck Short Stay Unit (HANSSU). Additionally, we offer a fully operational Urgent Treatment Centre, ensuring efficient care for minor injuries and GP-referred cases. Join us in providing exceptional healthcare within a supportive, forward-thinking environment and be a part of our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals., As an Emergency Department Trust Speciality Registrar, your role will be in the initial assessment and treatment of the ill and injured patient as well as providing clinical advice to more junior ED doctors and ENPs, where appropriate. You will have the opportunity to be part of the Trauma Team within the ED and to be the nominated Resus or Paediatric doctor of the day. The clinical experience you gain will be diverse and interesting.As a employee of the Trust the post-holder will work in close co-operation with and support other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.
