Pyramid is a Leeds-based arts organisation supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to access arts and culture, and to develop their own creative practice. We are looking someone with a finance background to join our Board.

    What will you be doing?

Pyramid, an innovative arts organisation based in Leeds, is seeking a passionate and skilled individual with a finance background to join our Board of Trustees. We champion the artistic talents of people with learning disabilities, autism, or both, fostering an inclusive environment where creativity thrives and barriers are dismantled.

As a Trustee responsible for financial oversight, you will play a crucial role in ensuring Pyramid's financial health and sustainability. This involves working closely with the Director and Development Manager to monitor budgets, review financial reports, and support the strategic allocation of resources. Your expertise will help guide the organisation in making informed financial decisions, aligning with our ambitious plans for growth and impact as described in the Pyramid Plan 2024 - 2028 (available from our website).

In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will also participate in quarterly Board meetings, offering strategic advice and insights to help Pyramid navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with managing a dynamic arts organisation.

We are looking for someone with a background in finance, accounting, or business management, who shares our commitment to social inclusion and the arts.

Joining Pyramid as a Trustee offers a unique opportunity to be part of a passionate team that supports artists in overcoming barriers and celebrates those achievements on local and national stages. You will be making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, helping them each to achieve their creative potential.

If you are ready to contribute your financial expertise to a cause that makes a real impact, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can continue to make art work for everyone.

  • A background in finance, accounting, or business management, with an excellent understanding of budgeting and financial planning

  • The ability to contribute to long-term financial strategies that will support Pyramid's growth and sustainability

  • A willingness to work openly and collaboratively with staff, trustees, and other stakeholders

  • An understanding of the value of arts and culture, for both creators and audiences

  • A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion

As a Trustee responsible for financial monitoring at Pyramid, your impact will be substantial and far-reaching. Your oversight will ensure Pyramid's financial stability, allowing it to continue offering excellent support to artists with learning disabilities and autism. By guiding its financial planning, you'll help Pyramid to maximise the effective use of its resources, enabling more inclusive and impactful art projects. Your contribution will also strengthen the charity's compliance with financial regulations, ensuring transparency and accountability. Ultimately, your role will empower Pyramid to sustain and expand its mission, to make big change through big art.
