Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. At Citizens Advice Enfield our highly trained volunteers give up their time, skills, energy and resources to help us to provide a service to the community in Enfield. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Citizens Advice Enfield. We simply would not be able to run an effective service without them, and that includes the Board of Trustees. Volunteer with us as a Trustee Could you help shape the future of Citizens Advice Enfield? Trustees provide governance, leadership and enthusiasm to lead Citizens Advice Enfield into the future. Some of our trustees are in full employment, some work part-time, some are retired. Our trustees come from a range of backgrounds so we have a very diverse Board. We work in a collegiate way, respecting the diverse viewpoints board members bring to the table. Trustee roles are voluntary and unpaid. Recruitment Citizens Advice Enfield is seeking to recruit two new Trustees to its Board. One with the knowledge, skills and experience to become the Treasurer; and another with a non-specific background, though finance, advice & legal services, income generation in the charity sector, knowledge of Enfield, HR, marketing and communication and measuring impact or general business experience would be advantageous. - You'll have the opportunity to guide the strategic direction of Citizens Advice Enfield. You will bring your unique skills and knowledge to discussions. You will play a vital role in improving the lives of the residents of Enfield whom we serve. Time Commitment
- Quarterly evening Trustee Board meetings (each 2 hours plus prep) - mixture of in person and hybrid Annual General Meeting Liaison with Chair, CEO and colleague Trustees by phone, e-mail or video such as Teams/Zoom Day-time visits to our offices to understand our work and engage with staff/volunteers (occasional) Join a subcommittee (up to 4 meetings a year in advance of each Quarterly Trustee Board meeting) We welcome applications from residents of Enfield and surrounding boroughs. We also welcome applications from people with lived experience of using advice services, including young people.
