Trustee Director Appointment; The Aon MasterTrust

Aon is reviewing the Trustee Board of its market-leading Defined Contribution MasterTrust - a multi-employer pension scheme - and we are looking to make one change to the current Board as part of our succession planning, with effect from December 2024.

It is expected that each Trustee Director will commit at least 15 days per annum to the role and will be subject to The Pension Regulator's Fit and Proper requirements.

Successful candidates should possess the following attributes, skills and / or experiences:

Excellent communication skills when dealing with scheme members, DC market participants and current & prospective clients.

  • Experience of serving on governance boards

  • Active listening, analysis, and questioning skills

  • Effective decision-making skills

  • A pragmatic, collaborative and constructive team player

  • Conscientious and available to attend meetings and occasional client presentation, incl some at short notice


  • Individual Trustee Directors need not be pension specialists or professional trustees, as it is the overall balance of the Board that is key. The following are the collective experiences that we are seeking:

  • Defined Contribution pensions

  • Presenting to clients

  • Administration, consumer focus and service delivery

  • Financial wellbeing


  • If you have experience in one or more of these areas, we would be keen to hear from you.
