Full Job Description
Time commitment: A minimum of 12 days a year for a four-year term, starting from April 2025. This includes attendance at six meetings a year - these can be attended either in person at The National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth or digitally if necessary. Remuneration: Please note that these are voluntary roles, but all reasonable expenses will be met. The National Library of Wales makes the culture and heritage of Wales accessible to all, for learning, research and enjoyment. We are seeking a new trustee who is:
- passionate about Wales' cultural heritage
- ambitious, innovative, strategic thinkers
- committed to ensuring that the diverse communities of Wales can enjoy what the Library has to offer
International relations - Audit skills
- Working in a business environment Applicants should have a genuine passion for the Library's activities and its future development, as well as an understanding of governance and the responsibilities of a trustee. As a trustee you will help to define and develop the Library's strategic direction and scrutinise its plans. You will be a confident communicator, able to advocate for the Library and to positively influence a broad range of stakeholders. You will also be able to work well with others, offering support and challenge, and be comfortable in strategic planning and in driving change. Welsh language skills: The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
