Tug Deckhand

Working as part of a team offering 24 / 7 coverage as required, you'll support the marine and port operations of A&P Falmouth. The role will involve :

• Acting as deck crew on all three of our harbour tugs undertaking deck work and rope handling
• Assisting the Duty Master with routine maintenance tasks onboard tugs, workboats and in shoreside facilities
• Assisting with the mooring and unmooring of vessels within the Port
• Carrying out nightwatch duties on vessels within the Port
• Conducting workboat duties

Due to the nature of what we do for some of the customers that we work with, some roles working for A&P are subject to security control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors including your nationality, any previous nationalities you have held, and your place of birth may limit those roles you can perform with us. All successful candidates must undergo security check as part of pre-employment checks. Are you a motivated and hardworking individual with an interest in harbour and / or at sea towage? If so, we may have the opportunity for you.,
• Individuals should have completed all STCW short courses including all recent amendments
• They should also hold a valid ENG1 / ML5 medical
• Experience of harbour / at sea towage would be advantageous although full training will be provided
• Experience of operating machinery such as forklifts and cranes would also be ideal although full training will be provided
Due to the nature of this role, this position requires that candidates are able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and public holidays when required to meet customer and operational requirements.
