Full Job Description

Design and build the highest quality integrated customer-centric technology solutions whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting their teams.

Able to lead cross-disciplinary teams developing performant and highly available solutions showcasing excellent interpersonal and communication skills, whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle and continuing to track the market trends to identify opportunities that would benefit the organisation.

This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain & technical expertise with great passion for coaching and developing people in a player-coach model

What you'll need

Takes responsibility for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organisation and / or conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems.

Provides input into the development of IT Security policies, develops underlying procedures and monitors their implementation for area of responsibility within the organisation.

Meets the needs of significant customers related to a range of products and services and / or manages a customer advisor team over a given area.

Uncovers emerging issues and / or needs and identifies potential causes, related issues, key stakeholders and barriers. Analyses and evaluates the feasibility / relevance of proposals for complex products / services, then develops and amends as necessary with guidance from senior colleagues and / or supervises activities performed by a product development / specialist team.

Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and develops the capabilities of direct reports by working within existing development framework;

provides specialised training or coaching in area of expertise to others throughout the organisation.

Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices, while developing and delivering projects or a workstream within the organisation's change management programme with guidance from senior colleagues.

Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems, by managing others and working within established systems.

Identifies and evaluates complex expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.

Sets short term objectives and helps manage the performance of direct reports by working within performance management systems.

Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by improving and / or working within an established supplier management plan guidance from senior colleagues, using risk management systems to ensure the organisation is not exposed to undue risks

And any experience of these would be really useful

Automation strategy from virtual network (e.g. VPC, security groups and DNS), through compute, storage, VMs, load balancing, web servers and databases.

Covering test, staging and production environments for Tusker's bespoke applications.

Implementation of the proposed strategy enabling automation of environment deployment and server deployment. This will result in the deployment and configuration of technologies such as, Linux (Debian and Ubuntu);

multiple AWS technologies, including EC2 and RDS; VMware; Boomi Atoms; WordPress.

Configuring the AWS environment for auto-scaling, self-healing and security.

Development using existing automations technologies Terraform, Ansible, EKS and ArgoCD.

Owner of virtual infrastructure in AWS, ensuring it is monitored and maintained.
