Full Job Description

  • Support to the creation of Avionics qualification plans and test requirements documentation - ultimately helping to determine the level of testing (rig and flight) required to certify new Avionic functionality
  • Analysis of test evidence, to determine the levels of compliance against qualification plans, and the impact of any non-compliances that may result in user advice and/or platform limitations
  • Working with the Safety team to determining the minimum test requirements associated with Safety Critical Function Chains (SCFC) required for Safety of Flight
  • Managing, allocating and actioning software problems and fixes; supporting associated management forums across all Eurofighter companies and relevant customer representatives
  • Support to the provision of an In Service Query answer service for urgent Customer issues
  • This is a key role in supporting the qualification of Typhoon Avionics design changes, and you will work closely with the Avionic Safety and Clearance teams to release new capability in line with programme demands. As a senior engineer, you will operate with more autonomy and less supervision, assisting the Group Leader with discharging more of the team duty set, and coaching junior team members

    Mission Systems experience, ideally in an aerospace and/or military context
  • Knowledge of system (or sub system) level functional test processes
  • Demonstrated experience in dataset/database management
  • Must be capable of working to agreed standards and procedures, and understand the importance of configuration control
  • Desirable
  • Knowledge of the Typhoon platform
  • Experience in trials data analysis, and trials management

    Joining the Typhoon Avionics Joint Team (AJT) at BAE Systems provides a unique and pivotal role in the design and qualification of Avionic system changes. The AJT oversees the entire Avionic System, managing seven crucial sub-systems. This role offers the chance to gain extensive knowledge of Typhoon Avionics across its engineering lifecycle and collaborate with a diverse network of technical stakeholders. The AJT is a collaboration across the whole Eurofighter consortium, and offers the opportunity to work alongside several external partner companies and customer communities.
