We welcome applications from candidates who demonstrate inspirational and resourceful leadership to help drive performance and deliver a positive and efficient service to our customers., Leading work to identify and improve Service Delivery, identifying opportunities for Service improvements, changing Operational practices to promote effective end to end delivery within Universal Credit, covering all claimant journeys and Labour Market activities within the business. Developing relationships across Universal Credit and the wider DWP to support the delivery of complex outcomes through others.
Leading data and analysis improvement projects at pace, which will require independent working, delivering to project milestones and engaging with key stakeholders, including senior leaders on high profile work that generates ministerial interest.
Understanding appropriate media to communicate findings as you’ll be responsible for visualising and explaining complex technical information to Senior Leaders nationally, in easy to understand language so they can better run their business.
Manage the quality of the data collated and accuracy of analysis and performance insights with responsibility for identifying gaps in data and analysis, and opportunities to improve data and analysis collation processes, tools and quality.
Extract, Manipulate, Interrogate and analyse data to reach sound conclusions, using extensive analysis and business knowledge to develop tactical recommendations by leveraging stakeholder engagement to influence and challenge where required.
Operates as part of a team focused on agreed goals and priorities to achieve collective commitments, effectively managing resources in an ever-changing organisational structure to drive efficiencies and keep costs down.

Personal statement
When completing your personal statement of 1250 words, please read and understand the Key Criteria thoroughly as this is what your written evidence will be assessed against. Your layout is entirely your preference; you may choose narrative, bullets, etc. You may choose to address each criteria separately, however, one narrative example may cover and evidence several key criteria. You may not be able to meet all the key criteria, but please ensure you evidence: the key personal requirements and what have you done that relates to the requirements. You don’t have to explain the whole process, just what you have done and the skills and experience you have used. Share with us what makes you suited to this role and why, what you can do and the skills you have that are transferable to the key requirements, and the life experience or passion you have that are linked to this role.
1. Written Sift
The written sift will be conducted using evidence from your Personal Statement of 1250 words and will be assessed against the Chosen Key Criteria within the advert. In the event of a large number of applications we will use the Lead criteria set out in the person specification to initially assess your application during the Sift stage. Candidates who pass the initial Sift may be progressed to a full Sift or direct to interview.
2. Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. This will be a video interview.
The interview panel will be a minimum of two people. The interview will assess: Behaviours and Technical Knowledge. The interview aims to be more of a conversation exploring the candidate’s capability for the role.
To help you prepare and settle into the interview you will be sent the behaviour questions in advance of the interview, up to 5 days prior to your interview. These questions should be treated as confidential. The interview panel may ask you other questions which will not be shared in advance, including follow-up questions, and those about your abilities, and technical knowledge. Candidates will be asked further probing questions to determine suitability for the role.

It may help to use the WHO or STAR model to explain:

3. Selection and Feedback

+ You have the ability to produce and QA data outputs from modern analytical code (R, python, SQL) using appropriate software to visualise data and analysis that informs high profile business decisions with senior leaders in informative and meaningful ways, in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines whilst maintaining a high attention to detail. + Experience of working within and leading fundamental components of high profile projects in an agile environment from discovery to implementation, understanding operational challenges and working to overcome them.
+ You have strong and effective leadership and stakeholder management experience with an ability to communicate complex technical information to non technical audiences, in plain easy to understand language with clarity, conviction and enthusiasm. Using data to influence and gain buy-in from partners and stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
+ You can build trusting relationships with colleagues at all levels and senior stakeholders, through effective working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams and delivery partners to achieve business outcomes through collaboration and innovative ways of working.
+ Strong decision making, communication presentation skills; with the ability to interpret large volumes of complex data sets; an eye for detail showing confidence when putting forward own views and using sound judgment and remaining resilient in the face of challenge to provide recommendations that support improvements for business change.
+ Experience of working to support large scale Service Delivery, preferably with awareness of Universal Credit and it’s user centred approach to design.
