Full Job Description

Working as part of a campaign team towards the successful achievement of campaign objectives, you'll undertake particular campaign projects and ensure the effective communication of campaign issues. Project work is likely to involve all of the following techniques: non-violent direct action, public communication and engagement activities, media work, political and corporate work and the use of legal and scientific approaches. Your focus as a Campaigner will be on UK Climate. However, the role requires a willingness to work on a wide range of issues, as you may be contributing to any of our issue-based teams, including forests, oceans, plastics, air pollution or energy.   • Knowledge and experience of campaigning, with understanding of how campaigning can achieve change.
  • Understanding of the importance of communications, with ability to devise innovative, high quality communication in campaigns.
  • Understanding of the importance of direct action in campaigning.
  • Ability to analyse environmental issues in terms of campaign opportunities and overall strategic objectives.
  • Expertise in one or more of: use of direct action; public communication and engagement; use of traditional and new media; political and corporate work; use of science and the law.
  • Ability to manage projects, external consultants, volunteers and staff.
  • Good team working, planning, prioritising and organising skills.
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade, build relationships and communicate widely.
  • Interest in the politics and sociology of environmental problems, as well as the wider aims and core values of Greenpeace.
