Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a communications manager to join our London office on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role involves providing comprehensive support to our UK external communications team.

You will work across our UK business areas, sectors, service lines, and regions to uncover stories and create compelling content for our digital and social media channels. Collaborating with our Associate Director of UK external communications, and the Business Generation team, you will develop content that aligns with our vision, supports key campaigns, and enhances our content strategy.

Your responsibilities will include boosting the visibility of Turner & Townsend's content on digital platforms such as our corporate website, search engines, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. You will co-ordinate with the global marketing and communications team, to ensure our presence reflects our expertise and key themes.

Additionally, you will work with senior leaders to optimise their use of social media, providing training and support. You will also collaborate with regional strategic leads to plan and implement content for our corporate channels, reflecting regional priorities, and work with our external media agency to place opinion articles and commentary in key media.

Duties will include:

Website:

  • Create, write and manage UK content (e.g. news announcements, case studies, commentary, reports), and co-ordinate with the global marketing and communications team and other content creators where necessary, publishing content on the website following approval processes.


  • Analyse the performance of website content based on reports from the global marketing and communications team, and draw conclusions from it/ providing recommendations for improvement.


  • Social media:
  • Manage the daily running of the UK social media schedule, drafting and delivering content for our corporate channels, working in close co-ordination with the global marketing and communications team.


  • Work with senior leaders to optimise their profiles, write and review content/commentary for their personal accounts.


  • Monitor activity on all of our social media channels to share/retweet content from our UK spokespeople and stakeholders.


  • Support social media training at all levels of the organisation and create ways of empowering our employees to advocate for our brand on social media.


  • Support social media paid campaigns and reporting on their results.


  • Ensure adherence to our official social media guidance.


  • Project management:
  • Management and creation of regular publications and other content campaigns.


  • Day to Day support and mentoring of UK communications apprentice.


  • Reporting
  • Working with the UK communications apprentice, prepare monthly reports for all published content.


  • Working with the Business Generation team to ensure timely input into quarterly Board reports.


  • Prepare updates for quarterly strategic leads meetings.

    Demonstrable experience creating, writing and managing content for various audiences.


  • Experience commissioning and/or producing original multimedia and live content for websites.


  • Experience building and delivering targeted short, medium and long-term content plans, using content briefs where necessary.


  • Familiarity with HTML, experience of web publishing and CMS (ideally Umbraco), social media management platforms (e.g. Sprout Social)


  • An understanding of digital analytics, setting KPIs and targets, analysing performance and optimising campaigns based on insights.


  • Excellent spoken and written English language ability, to native standard and demonstrable experience in creating clear and persuasive copy.


  • Excellent attention to detail and proof-reading ability.


  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and managing and prioritising a large workload.
