Full Job Description

We are now looking for a UK Process Safety Manager to ensure that across our UK locations we have in place robust systems and procedures in order to ensure that best practice process safety standards are established and maintained. Your Responsibilities

  • To develop, agree, implement, and maintain management systems to ensure compliance with Corporate and published best practice process safety standards.
  • To lead, facilitate or participate in process safety assessments and design reviews e.g. HAZOP and SIL assessment, on new and existing plant in order to ensure compliance with current published best practice.
  • To participate in Project Teams in order to ensure that appropriate safety and environmental considerations are incorporated throughout the life of the project.
  • To provide professional advice and support on all process safety matters to Directors, Managers and Employees, guiding and supporting them towards compliance with relevant legislation.
  • To lead, facilitate or participate in process safety risk assessments, audits, and Root Cause investigations; to prioritise remedial actions; and monitor implementation in order to minimise risks to Company assets and employees in a cost-effective manner.
  • To provide timely advice to Senior Management on ongoing compliance. To communicate clearly and concisely with external stakeholders including regulators.
  • To develop and deliver suitable training courses in order to secure continuous improvements in process safety at all operational sites.
  • To provide coaching and/or mentoring to facility Process Safety Engineers and/or contacts., Challenging tasks, short decision-making processes and a high level of personal responsibility in a modern work environment with flexible work time models.

    A Science or Engineering focused degree.
  • A Chartered Engineer or Chartered Scientist would be an advantage.
  • A Post-graduate Diploma in either Process Safety Management or Occupational Health and Safety Management or Environmental Management would be an advantage.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant current and impending Process Safety standard and UK good practices.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of process safety theory and practice ideally in the process industry.
  • Proven experience of the effective, practical interpretation and communication of SHE legislation requirements and the establishment of effective systems of work.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with external stakeholders.
