Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) for an Claims Administrator to join our operations team in London.

This role provides the opportunity to work with international colleagues across multiple functions in EMEA and North America to provide reinsurance Claims Administration support for Life and Health claims to our clients.

As a Claims Administrator you will play an important role ensuring monthly data reporting and financials deadlines are met, whilst ensuring data can be processed timely and accurately. This role is suited to someone with a general knowledge of Insurance or Reinsurance, a great attention to detail and enthusiasm to grow and learn new skills in the role.

Responsibilities

Administration

  • Ensure that the company's claims administration standards and time service requirements are applied to the handling of all business received. This includes both claims notifications and claims settlements.

  • Ensure that the claims administration for all business accounts adheres to RGA treaties.

  • For your specific client responsibility, provide claims administration data for input into accounting records, valuation systems and regulatory returns.

  • Ensure claims administration data is provided to retrocession clients, including International Retro Pool, in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure claims administration processes and procedures are fully documented.

  • Maintain a professional and working relationship with clients, both internal and external.


  • Reinsurance
  • Gain a good working knowledge of reinsurance practices and specific RGA treaty practices as they pertain to the management and handling of transfer of risk.

  • Ensure that claims are administered appropriately through the RGA chain of companies, external retro companies and the International Retro Pool.


  • Management Information
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual claims reporting is carried out in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure data is provided for claims audits as and when required.

  • Ensure data is provided for any ad hoc claims data requests.

  • Ensure data is provided for quarterly valuation claims reporting.

  • Ensure documents that provide input to regular management information are completed in a timely and accurate manner.


  • Technical
  • Develop market knowledge of Life Reinsurance and its implications within administration.

  • Develop a good understanding of processing claims data on RGA administration systems. This includes Raptor and any other applicable systems or tools.

  • Develop a good understanding of retrocession through the RGA chain of companies, external retrocession, and the International Retro Pool.


  • Interactions
  • Report to the Raptor Team Lead, CE & ME and work closely with other members of the Claims Administration (Raptor) CE & ME team.

  • Work closely with other CE & ME teams and teams based in other locations that provide services to CE and ME.

  • Work closely with other RGA EMEA Claims Teams as and when appropriate.

    Experience of working in a similar role

  • Strong IT skills with a good understanding of MS Excel

  • Understanding the concept of Reinsurance and the risk factors affecting RGA.

  • Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels and across different departments

  • Ability to focus on priorities, targets and deadlines

  • Proactive team player who can also work on own initiative

  • Ability to contribute to the team building spirit within the company

  • 1 years' experience of working in a similar role

  • Understanding the concept of Reinsurance and the risk factors affecting RGA.

  • Have previous experience of working in a relevant role
