Full Job Description

This position will play a vital role in supporting all functions of the UK Shipping Concierge. As the concierge grows in prominence so does the number of companies it is supporting, enquiries it is handling, events it is attending and more.
The UK Operations Coordinator will provide support and delivery across all workstreams including strategic account relationship management, market analysis, the delivery of marketing and communications, event planning, reporting and KPI monitoring. In addition, the role will provide stakeholder support to the Directorates Regulatory Innovation team.
The UK Shipping Concierge was created to support the growth of the UK maritime economy. It does this by serving as an entry point and ongoing interface for international maritime businesses who wish to work with or in the UK, by promoting the UK maritime offer, and by improving that offer where there is a need and opportunity to do so.
The UK Shipping Concierge assists shipping and associated sub-sectors by providing a one-stop shop for businesses wishing to interact with various Government departments, actively promotes the benefits of doing business in the UK and builds market intelligence to help shape policy and strategy.
The UK Shipping Concierge:
+ Creates a link between the maritime industry and government.
+ Provide strategic account relationships between government experts, ship owners, operators, managers and maritime sub sector leaders.
+ Promote the UK Maritime Offer from a government perspective and highlight the benefits of trading in the UK.
+ Provide the UK maritime sector a government centre of expertise, monitoring international competition and recommending adjustments to the UK’s offer.
+ Discover what barriers business may face when considering the UK and work to influence policy leads, as appropriate, to build better policy, which stimulates growth and maritime investment.
+ Help propel UK maritime prosperity to create jobs and increase economic growth.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Work closely with the Operations Manager and marketing and communications leaders across government to organise and deliver strategically positioned functions, events, and conferences to promote the UK Shipping Concierge service and the UK maritime offer globally.
+ Work in collaboration with Operations Manager and MCA Communications team in implementing social media campaigns that promote the UK maritime offer and drive engagement in accordance with the Communications Strategy.
+ Contribute to the sourcing and procurement of reliable maritime data and lead with the analysis and modelling of data that supports the development of market insight.
+ Map existing customers and industry multipliers and design a programme for stakeholder engagement.
+ Support strategic stakeholder engagement and events for the Directorates Regulatory Innovation team as agreed in conjunction with Operations Manager.

MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work.
The expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace or out on official business. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.

This interview will be conducted via face to face at our Southampton HQ office. Further details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
