Full Job Description

We have an amazing opportunity for someone to join the team on a secondment basis until March 2025 as a Finance and Compliance Officer. Innovation and Skills is a fast paced and friendly place to work. We offer a flexible agile working arrangement. Innovation and Skills work across a number of fully funded and commercial contracts, therefore your working day will be diverse. This role will be aligned to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Contract, which is led by the University of Sunderland. This role will support in the compliance of the employer and learner paperwork from the partners and for the management of the financial information both from the partners and from our own internal delivery teams, to ensure that the information on the claim is accurate and correct.

The successful candidate will be keen to work as part of a team and the ability to work across the directorate. You will have good attention to detail when checking partner returns and be a good communicator both internally and externally, to support the partners and the council with information requests. You will have the ability to interrogate and draw data and financial information from spreadsheets.
